The Jim & rebecca Loree Foundation

Building a stronger community by investing in educational opportunities for underserved youth.

The Jim & Rebecca Loree Foundation exists to provide opportunities for our community's youth to further their position in life by pursuing uniquely valuable educational opportunities.

We aim to foster stronger communities by identifying educational programs within our community that provide measurable improvements in the lives of underserved children.

This means we support registered nonprofits in the Greater Hartford area and that we carefully select our partners by focusing on their impact in our community and on the impact that a grant from our foundation can make to further their cause.

ABOUT JAMES M. LOREE

JIM LOREE is Chief Executive Officer of Stanley Black & Decker, Inc., the world’s largest tools and outdoor manufacturer.  He leads the company’s more than 60,000 diverse and high-performing employees who strive every day to deliver on its Purpose: For Those Who Make The World.™

The company operates nearly 50 manufacturing facilities across North America and more than 100 worldwide that produce innovative, award-winning power tools, digital tool solutions, outdoor products, engineered fasteners and other industrial equipment. The company is recognized as a leader in environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors and strives to be a force for good in support of its communities, employees, customers and other stakeholders all around the world.

Jim joined the company, then Stanley Works, as CFO in 1999 when the company generated just over $2 billion in revenue. In that role, he led a massive restructuring of the business and the company’s portfolio.  He was later promoted to Chief Operating Officer, President, and in 2016 assumed his current role as CEO.  Since then, the company generated significant growth both organically and through acquisitions to stand at more than 8x revenue today. Prior to Stanley Black & Decker, Jim enjoyed a successful 19-year career with GE, spanning a multitude of assignments and industries.

Jim is a director of Whirlpool Corporation and serves as a trustee of his alma mater, Union College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics.  He is a member of the Business Roundtable, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, FORTUNE’s CEO Initiative, the WSJ CEO Council, and the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion. He is also a director of the National Association of Manufacturers.

One of Jim’s core beliefs is that solving big societal problems requires strong partnership between government and the private sector.  As a result, Jim works with the Business-Higher Education Forum and with Governor Ned Lamont’s Workforce Council to bring digital credentialing systems that make manufacturing skills more accessible to students and mid-career employees. He sits on the Board of Directors of AdvanceCT, a non-profit that works to engage, retain and recruit business and advance economic competitiveness in the state, and is a member of UCONN’s President’s Advisory Council, a small group of CEOs and thought leaders from private, public and non-profit organizations. Jim also serves on the advisory council of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford.

Jim was recently honored by the Connecticut business community with the Hartford Business Journal’s 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award for his lasting impact on Stanley Black & Decker’s growth and culture, including his focus on diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace, and commitment to the community.

Jim lives with his wife Rebecca in Connecticut and is the proud father to four daughters.
